If the owner of the boat is a company (polish flag)

PRIVATE PERSON BOAT OPERATOR:You appoint a private person as the boat operator, this person needs be in possession of a valid radio operator license issued by a governmental institution, any other certificates or radio training certificates are not accepted. For all the fixed radio devices/EPIRB/radar we need to have the CE certificate. The MMSI license takes about 5-6 weeks after we have received the original document.

COMPANY BOAT OPERATOR: No radio operator license is needed, but original company formation documents need to be sent to our office as they need to be sworn translated into Polish, only original documents are accepted, you will receive the documents back as soon as your MMSI license is ready. The license takes about 9 weeks after we have received the original registration certificate. For all the fixed radio devices/EPIRB/radar we need to have the CE certificate.

If the owner of the boat is a private person (polish flag)

WITH A RADIO OPERATION LICENSE: In order to apply for the Polish MMSI you must be in possession of a valid operator license, issued by a governmental institution, any other certificates or radio training certificates are not accepted. All the equipement you have on board has to have a CE marking and the CE certificate, portable devices like portable VHF cannot be registered in Poland as the Polish authorities do not require a MMSI license for portable devices. The MMSI license takes about 5-6 weeks after we have received the original registration.

WITHOUT A RADIO OPERATION LICENSE: If you do not have an operator license we can still assist with your Polish MMSI, we can set up a Company in the UK for an extra 300 EUR, this company will be the boat operator and in this way we can apply for the MMSI license as companies do not need to have a radio operator license. There is a yearly fee of 249 EUR for the UK LTD. For all the fixed radio devices/EPIRB/radar we need to have the CE certificate. The MMSI license takes about 6 weeks after we have received the original registration.

Category A – Ocean: covers largely self-sufficient boats designed for extended voyages with winds of over Beaufort Force 8 (over 40 knots), and significant wave heights above 13 feet, but excluding abnormal conditions such as hurricanes.

Category C – Inshore: is for boats operating in coastal waters and large bays and lakes with winds to Force 6, up to 27 knots, and significant seas 7 feet high.
